Take a rare opportunity to experience the golden age of rail travel in a piece of the past as you travel along the beautiful Southern California coastline in our historic private Pullman car, the ex-Union Pacific National Forum. Pick from two departure times and make a round trip between Los Angeles and San Diego with your fellow train travel lovers. The Forum will be coupled to Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliners for a day of adventure and relaxation. Choose from departure times below.

Rail travel is subject to several unforeseeable delays and cancellations, so the arrival times above may be inaccurate. In case of cancellation by Amtrak before the trip runs, you will receive a complete refund. If you notify us before July 9, 2025, that you have to cancel, you will receive a complete refund.

Pacific Railroad Society, Inc., is a California non-profit public benefit educational corporation, recognized by the Federal government as non-profit under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3). It has been running rail excursions since 1936 and is composed of people who love trains and train travel. Any revenues over costs from this activity will be devoted to the educational activities of Pacific Railroad Society, including the preservation, restoration and maintenance of the historic rail car National Forum.
