The PACIFIC RAILROAD LIBRARY in the SAN DIMAS Station

The focus of the library is on the 2nd (or Pasadena) Sub-division of the Coast Division of the Santa Fe, the Interurban operations of the Pacific Electric lines and other rail activities relating to the Los Angeles basin. Large collections exist of topographic maps (old and current), SF photos, UP photos, PE photos, a large collection of timetables from all roads (old and current years), and a complete set of Calif PUC rulings since 1900.

The library indexes its own material as well as that of the Electric Railway Historical Society of Los Angeles and will cross index with the Orange Empire Railway Museum (OERM) as time permits. It also provides Internet access to other materials-off line.

 The Museum & Library are currently open on Saturday 10-4, Wednesday 2-5 and by appointment. Admission is free. Materials do not circulate but comfortable facilities are available for study or leisure reading. The Station is also available for other Civic functions. The hours are seasonal and expanding--please call to confirm on (909) 394-0616.

Located 10 miles East of Pasadena on the Southern leg of the 210 Freeway (also known as the north end of the 57 Freeway). Exit the Freeway at Arrow Highway and proceed East on Bonita Avenue about one mile to #210 west (Immediately East of the Santa Fe rail crossing).
