EXCURSIONS are operated by or sponsored by the Society. Destinations of these trips include scenic and historical attractions, as well as points of railroad interest. While other types of railroad transportation are also used, PRS excursions utilize rail routes and rail equipment wherever possible. Some excursions are operated using the Society's own passenger cars, either attached to regularly scheduled trains, or in special trains chartered especially for the Pacific Railroad Society. As with its meetings, all excursions are open to the public.

Excursion information is mailed to Pacific Railroad Society Members with Wheel Clicks, the monthly publication of the society.

SPECIAL EVENTS are scheduled from time to time. These include tours of railroad-oriented facilities, field trips, and picnics. An annual Christmas party is held for members, their families and guests.

Standing committees meet regularly to conduct business. Committee work allows members to meet on an informal basis, and contributes to a closer feeling of camaraderie and accomplishment. Among the committees providing valuable services to the Society are the Car committee, and the Pacific Railroad Museum Committee. Active membership on the Society's committees is a fulfilling way of preserving rail-oriented property, culture and history!
