The
Pacific Railroad Society acquired two Los Angeles Railway streetcars.
These cars represent the ordinary and the unusual in the LARy fleet.
The ordinary car is the LARy street car 1559. Los Angeles Transit
Lines car number 1559 is one of sixty cars (1501-1560) constructed
in Los Angeles Railway's shops during 1923 and 1924.
The
unusual is represented by the Descanso funeral car. This car transported
the deceased to their final resting place from the mortuaries along
Washington Boulevard in Los Angeles to the cemeteries along Florence
Avenue and other locations around Los Angeles.
